What radio was Xerify is

Yesterday I read the story of Jeanne C. Reilly and how she recorded Harper Valley PTA. When she was done the engineer took a tape right over to the local radio station there in Nashville and the DJ put it on the air.  Immediately the station started getting calls to play it again.  Within a few days the song was a nationwide phenomenon without even an actual record.

That’s what radio was.  That excitement of discovery.  A trusted friend who played something new and great.  Who reintroduced you to songs you had forgotten about.  Who create musical collages of songs that become the soundtrack to our days and our lives. That’s what Xerify is today: the best of what radio was in its heyday, brought to the way people listen today.
